Aaron
When Alcuin didn't hear from Aaron in a reasonable amount of time after leaving that note, he was... annoyed. Mostly at himself, because he wondered if he'd miscalculated. If it had been too soon for such an overt step. Though also he was slightly insulted.
Finally he decided that he was tired of waiting, and he might as well kill two birds with one stone and push things forward. Though he was also a little annoyed at having to get Hannibal's input into this plan because he didn't like admitting that Aaron was ghosting him.
But Hannibal had liked his new plan very much, and was more than happy to help.
Which was how, late one evening, Aaron received a phone call:
Alcuin's voice was nearly a whisper. Weak. "I - I'm so sorry to call you, but I didn't know who else... I think... I think I need help..."

"No, you didn't," Aaron was quick to assure him. "In the note, you asked me about feelings and I was sure I had none. But... well, as you probably guessed, that's not entirely true."

"They employ priests as hunters because we're easily expendable. No families, no ties, no worries. I've... lived my life like that for a long time," Aaron admitted quietly.

"Yeah..." Aaron said. "Didn't sit well with me either," he admitted, thus admitting to feelings.

"... yes," Aaron admitted.

"Look, I am not very good at this," he admitted when the sweetest kiss he'd ever tasted broke. "But... I want to be. So, forgive me for not answering and... let's start over?"

"Oh,sure, yes," Aaron said quickly. "Take the bed, I'll sleep on the couch."

"No, no, I just... Thought you might want to be alone," Aaron replied. "But if you don't mind... I wouldn't either."

"Oh, right, of course," Aaron replied. "Do you want to shower first? Or just rest?"

"No, I think that's wise," Aaron said and thought of Eliot in the shower briefly before sobering up. Alcuin was hurt, he shouldn't be thinking about...smut.
"Come on, let's get you cleaned up."

"You don't have... questions?" Aaron asked carefully as he turned on the shower. An encounter with vampires could certainly lead to questions.

Aaron chuckled. He removed his own shirt so he could help Alcuin get showered without getting his clothes wet. He probably should fully undress for that, but he didn't dare. It was inappropriate, surely.
"There's not much to know. They're vile creatures, but you've come to know that first hand. They only come out at night and most cannot stand silver. It burns them, like sunlight burns them," Aaron said. "They see us as a lesser species and well... we're prey to them, really. They feed on human blood."

"When he first bit me it was frightening, but it almost felt... intimate," Alcuin said. "And it barely hurt, except for how he was holding me so hard it bruised. At least, not until he ripped his fangs away."
no subject
"Yeah, don't let that fool you," Aaron warned. "Some vampires have a seductive bite, but it's just poison to prevent your blood from clotting. It's not real."
