Aaron
Between rumors that Hannibal had heard and snatches of thoughts that Alcuin had gotten, they had a good idea that the Church was up to something. Something that could be bad for vampires.
The problem with the Church's hunters, of course, was that they were difficult to spot unless they were hunting you. Most of them were priests. A handy day job, good cover. And so Alcuin's background task was being on the look out (and listen-out) for tales of priests acting strangely.
When Alcuin heard about a priest who'd been spotted in a gay bar, Hannibal had been delighted, and Alcuin had asked around. Found out he was more of a regular at other bars in the area. Paid off a bartender to call him the next time the priest came in.
He was easy to spot, at least. It seemed rather careless to Alcuin, for the guy to keep his collar on while he nursed a whiskey at the bar. Though priests were allowed to drink... maybe the gay bar was a fluke?
He came in and stood at the bar not far from the priest, as if getting the bartender's attention. He did an intentional double take as if surprised to see him, and then smiled as if a little embarrassed. Listening for his thoughts.

Aaron turned to face Alcuin. "So were you." God, he was beautiful, he thought, but of course would never utter it.

Aaron snorted. "I'm sure that's the lighting," he said. He was quite proud of his figure, but hot? Too many scars to be hot.

"I don't just mean how you look, though that's very good too," he said, looking over at him. "I mean... the whole thing. How you look at me. How you fuck."

Aaron found that extremely uncomfortable to hear. He wasn't into that. "Feel free to shower, if you like. Through the door next to the altar." And then leave, he thought, and hoped to imply. Before this got more uncomfortable. Before he started thinking about how beautiful he looked.

"I'll just wash up a little," he said with a little smile, climbing out of the bed. He scooped up his clothes but walked naked into the bathroom, giving Aaron a good view on the way.

Aaron watched him, then shook his head to discard his thoughts. He got dressed himself, and sat down with a book until Alcuin came out of the shower.

He walked over to Aaron. "I can't help but notice that you seem a bit uncomfortable," he said gently. "Is there anything you'd like to talk about before I go?"
Opening the door, but also making it clear that he was willing to just leave. If he wanted Aaron to invite him back, he couldn't overstay his welcome.

"Always a bit peculiar; doing these things in the House of the Lord, as it were," Aaron shrugged.

But then he smiled a little and said, "I can see why this must be very complicated for you. But I hope you don't regret what we just did."
no subject
"Never enough to stop me," Aaron replied.
Next time... The only man he had 'next times' with was John and only because they had an understanding.
"Look, don't take this the wrong way," Why did he care if Alcuin did? "I'm not sure about any next time. This was... really good, but I font usually..."
no subject
"It was really good," he agreed. "And... there's so much more I want to do to you." He had to get him curious. Leave him wanting more.
"I'm not asking you on a date," he added. "I'm saying that the next time you're thinking of going to a bar to pull someone, you could text me instead. Just think of all the time you'd save. Time I could be... doing things to you."

It appealed to Aaron, but he was skeptical by nature (and by years of hunting demons). So he frowned. "Why?" Just in case it was a trap.

"Fine," Aaron said. He sighed. "Sorry, it's probably professional deformation to be wary. But, that sounds good. You'll have to give me your number."

"Just not that used to... well, talking afterwards," Aaron admitted as he handed Alcuin his phone.

"It's fine," Aaron shrugged. "You're being very sweet. It's entirely my fault to find that disconcerting."
no subject
"You should call me," he said. "And hey... I really hope that stuff at work gets better for you."
no subject
Aaron smiled a bit at that. "Thanks. See you."
And... waa he seriously hoping yo see him again? Well... He told himself it was the promise of more good sex.
